Valencia 42, Burbank 22--Donovan Calhoun left an indelible impression in Valencia’s first ever league game. Calhoun rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns in 20 carries. He also passed for a two-point conversion and caught a pass for a two-point conversion.
Calhoun did most of his damage in the second quarter, when the Vikings (5-1) scored 26 unanswered points. He scored on runs of nine and 75 yards and added a 25-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Valencia’s Kenny Taylor-Broadous completed 10 of 14 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Swanson caught eight passes for 134 yards and a touchdown.
Burbank (2-4) scored its points in the fourth quarter, including two touchdown passes from quarterback Matt Pike to Jason Edwards. Pike completed 21 of 34 passes for 195 yards. Edwards caught eight passes for 89 yards.
