Thousand Oaks 49, Royal 8--Eleo Cuadra scored three first-half touchdowns for Thousand Oaks.
Cuadra caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Scott McEwan, who completed eight of 12 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and capped an 80-yard drive on the Lancers’ first possession.
Cuadra then returned a Highlander punt 80 yards for a touchdown and also scored on a three-yard run for a 23-0 lead. Cuadra finished with 61 yards in 12 carries and Thousand Oaks (4-0-1, 2-0) had 429 total yards.
The Lancers’ defense gave up just 98 yards to Royal (0-5, 0-2), 49 in the fourth quarter. Defensive tackle Chance Redmond had four of the Lancers’ eight sacks.
