Big Wheels Turning for Iowa Birthday

Five restored paddle boats are to converge Oct. 10-13 in Davenport, Iowa, in the “Big River Rendezvous,” part of Iowa’s 15Oth anniversary celebration. The boats are the Delta Queen, Twilight, Spirit of Dubuque, Queen of Hearts and Harriet Bishop. Most will be open for tours from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day. There is also a wide range of cruises available with food, music, and tales from the steamboat era. Prices range from $15.95 to $39.95, plus tax and handling charges.
