Brendan Perry lives in Ireland while Lisa Gerrard remains in Australia, but the duo continues to filter ancient treasures through high technology. While more Eurocentric sounds like Gregorian chants dominated their other works, here they weave classic Latin melodies around hypnotic Chilean and Peruvian percussion, Algonquin Indian poems, Vodun chants and the chirps of Nile crickets for an earthy, organic, rhythm-propelled work that is quietly rewarding.
