Littlerock limited Chaminade to 189 yards and held off a late Eagles bid to secure a 14-6 nonleague victory Friday night at Palmdale High.
Littlerock (4-1) scored first on a safety when defensive lineman Chris Bones deflected a punt out of the end zone on Chaminade’s first possession.
Chaminade (1-2-1) answered with a 27-yard field goal by Bryan Kay to take a 3-2 lead, but Lobo junior defensive back Michael Woods returned an interception 82 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter to push Littlerock ahead, 8-3. A one-yard touchdown run by Devon Reese in the fourth opened the Lobo lead to 14-3.
The Eagles rallied behind another field goal by Kay, this one from 22 yards, with 1 minute 40 seconds remaining and recovered an onside kick to spark a final drive and the potential tying score. But time expired as they reached the Littlerock 36.
