Shuttle Repairs May Delay Launch

The space shuttle Columbia faces a launch delay after NASA decided to replace two potentially flawed cockpit windows, officials said. Shuttle managers decided to replace the outer panes of the shuttle orbiter’s two front windows because of the risk they might break during launch. Columbia was scheduled for liftoff Nov. 8 but that was now in doubt, said NASA spokesman Rob Navias. “It is likely that there will be a few days’ delay,” he said. “We’ll know more next week.”
