Northridge Stays Perfect in Big Sky, Wins in Five Games

SACRAMENTO — Nancy Ma had a school-record 34 kills and the Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team recorded a team-record 93 kills in a Big Sky Conference victory over Sacramento State on Thursday night.
Northridge (5-8, 5-0 in conference play) won, 15-12, 15-5, 13-15, 12-15, 15-13.
Ma, a sophomore outside hitter, broke Heather Hafner’s record of 31 kills against UC Riverside set in 1984. The Matadors’ 93 kills were the most since they had 92 against BYU-Hawaii in 1990. Ma also had 17 digs, her ninth consecutive match with double figures in kills and digs.
Junior Getty Dimitrova added 23 kills and two assists for Northridge, competing in its first season in the Big Sky. Heather Hofmans had a team-high 73 assists to go with seven kills.
Sacramento State (9-7, 1-2) was led by Jill Haas with 40 kills and Mo Rafferty with 91 assists.
