Associated Press

New York Jet rookie wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, the No. 1 pick in the draft, underwent arthroscopic surgery Thursday for torn right knee cartilage and will be out for three to four weeks.

Johnson was hurt during practice Wednesday in Hempstead, N.Y., when his knee banged into the helmet of cornerback Aaron Glenn. An MRI exam revealed the torn cartilage.

Johnson leads all rookies with 21 receptions and 250 yards and two touchdowns. Coach Rich Kotite did not name a replacement.
