Council Candidates to Address Forums
Candidates seeking election to the Camarillo City Council will have two opportunities to stump votes and sway voters over the next several days.
The Democratic Club of Camarillo is sponsoring a candidates forum on Thursday beginning at 7:30 in the Camarillo Library conference room.
The Chamber of Commerce will host another candidates forum Monday, with all nine of the candidates expected to attend.
The chamber forum will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall. In that event, all candidates will be invited to address the audience before answering questions from a moderator.
The Monday evening debate will be broadcast over the local public access cable television channel.
Nine candidates are vying for two seats on the five-member council.
Mayor David M. Smith is not seeking reelection, and Councilman Mike Morgan is involved in a runoff campaign against Kathy Long for a seat on the county Board of Supervisors.
