Girl, 14, Injured in Shooting at Eatery; 2 Companions Held
GARDEN GROVE — Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 14-year-old girl was shot in the back of the head at a taco stand, police said Sunday.
The unidentified girl remained in guarded condition Sunday at UCI Medical Center, Sgt. George Jaramillo said.
The shooting occurred at 7:15 p.m. Saturday while the girl and the suspects were eating with another teenage girl at Los Gordos Tacos, 12053 Chapman Ave., Jaramillo said. One of the suspects, who were not identified because they are juveniles, pulled out a handgun to scare the girls when “the gun went off,†Jaramillo said.
Both boys, ages 15 and 16, were arrested after further investigation and taken to Juvenile Hall, Jaramillo said. Police had no information on which suspect allegedly fired the gun.
