Chadwick is Clutch For Nordhoff

James Chadwick scored twice in the fourth quarter, including the winning goal in the final minute, as Nordhoff High defeated Oxnard, 7-5, Tuesday in a water polo match at Oxnard.
The teams scored 12 fourth-quarter goals, but Chadwick broke a 5-5 tie and the Rangers (4-1) hung on. Torey Rubrecht scored three goals for Nordhoff.
Crescenta Valley 18, Burroughs (B) 9--Justin Payne had three of his four scores in a seven-goal second quarter for the Falcons (5-2) at Crescenta Valley.
Neil Reynolds and Tony Kuleto both had three goals for Crescenta Valley and Brian Hasbrouck made a career-high 28 saves. Alfonso Tucay had four goals for Burroughs (4-3).
Calabasas 19, Notre Dame 6--Jason Brooks scored six goals and Jamey Krauss, Chris Price and Reid Roberts each scored three for the Coyotes (5-1) at Notre Dame.
Mitch Wechsler had 19 saves for Calabasas. Jon Horwitz scored five goals for the Knights (2-6).
VOLLEYBALL
Kennedy d. Poly, 15-4, 15-5, 15-3--Christine Thach had nine kills and Stephanie Ong had 17 assists as the Golden Cougars (2-0) beat the Parrots.
North Hollywood d. South Gate, 15-3, 3-15, 15-9, 15-3--Takui Karapogosyan had 10 kills and Leslie Lima had 25 assists as the Huskies defeated the Rams.
Taft d. Verdugo Hills, 15-7, 13-15, 15-2, 15-3--Abbi Toushin and Linda Ngoyen each had four aces and Marizol Lopez had five digs for the Toreadors.
Granada Hills d. Monroe, 15-7, 15-11, 15-6--Lindy Gayton had seven kills and Gina Karabogias added 17 assists and four aces for the Highlanders (1-0).
Sylmar d. Eagle Rock, 15-9, 15-10, 15-11--Ingrid Ariza had eight kills and nine digs and Patty Mendoza had seven kills and 19 digs for the Spartans (1-0).
Montclair Prep d. Western Christian, 8-15, 15-9, 15-11, 15-9--Karyn Dousette had 17 kills and Sheri Morganstein had 27 assists as the Mounties (1-2) beat the Fighting Lancers (2-2).
Village Christian d. Burroughs, 15-6, 15-10, 15-8--Jill Bussanich had six kills and 10 digs, and Errin Benesh added four kills and eight blocks for the Crusaders (2-1) at Burroughs (0-4).
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Cleveland 6, San Fernando 1--Anna Coaynan, Mythy Huynh, Debbie Yim and Alma Mazo helped the Cavaliers sweep the singles.
Eagle Rock 4, Taft 3--Stephanie Shapiro, Melody Abrams and Helen Le won their singles as the Toreadors fell at Eagle Rock.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Moorpark 8, Oxnard 0--Vanessa Macen scored three goals as the Raiders (4-1) routed the Condors (0-2) in a Western State Conference match at Moorpark. Oxnard has not won since the 1994 season.
MEN’S GOLF
Montecito Invitational--Ted Heath tied for 13th with a 54-hole total of 224, and Ryan Fowlkes tied for 17th at 225 as Cal State Northridge placed 12th at Carlton Oaks Country Club in San Diego. San Diego State won the title.
