Thousand Oaks Man Killed in Accident
A 33-year-old Thousand Oaks resident was killed Thursday morning after he lost control of his vehicle when a tire fell off, authorities said.
Jose Antonio Hernandez Tovar’s car veered into a ditch on 5th Street near Los Posas Road about 12:05 a.m. after losing one of his right tires, California Highway Patrol officials said.
After Tovar lost control of the vehicle, it crossed the eastbound and westbound lanes and went off the road, where it landed in a ditch and spun around. He was not wearing a seat belt.
