Killings of 2 Brothers 10 Years Apart Probed
NORTH HOLLYWOOD — Police who discovered the body of a 51-year-old man inside his home are now investigating whether his death has any connection to the murder of his brother 10 years ago.
The man, Nshan Mekhitarian, was found lying on his living room floor shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 7600 block of Wilkinson Avenue. He had been shot to death.
No one else was inside the house at the time of the shooting.
Mekhitarian was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Mekhitarian’s younger brother, Rouben Mekhitarian, was found shot to death in September 1986 in the parking lot of the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City.
Los Angeles police never made an arrest in the case.
The same detectives who investigated the killing of his younger brother are handling the current case.
