Body of Man, 49, Found at State Beach

A windsurfer discovered the body of a 49-year-old man off Bolsa Chica State Beach on Monday evening, sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.
The windsurfer was about 400 yards offshore when he spotted the man’s nude body about 5:51 p.m., Sheriff’s Lt. Ron Wilkerson said.
The cause of death was not readily apparent, but a coroner’s spokesman said it appeared to be an accidental death. The windsurfer found the man opposite from lifeguard tower 23, Wilkerson said.
Wilkerson said that sheriff’s officials have identified the man, but they are withholding his name until relatives are notified of the death.
