Barrel in Road Closure Held Paint Thinner
A discarded 55-gallon barrel that prompted the precautionary closure of a 1 1/2-mile stretch of Rose Avenue in Saticoy for more than two hours Friday night turned out to contain “paint thinner and gunk,†authorities said.
Ventura County’s environmental health unit responded to determine the nature of the material found about 8:15 p.m. near Rose Avenue and California 118.
