Return Those Overdue Library Books Free
Library patrons with overdue books collecting dust and fines can return those library materials with no penalty starting Sept. 16.
The city’s first Library Forgiveness Week will grant amnesty to those who return overdue materials, no matter how long ago they were checked out, officials said.
“We’re trying to retrieve as many of our materials as possible,†librarian Jeanette Pham said. “That way we can provide more resources for the community and clean up our inventory system.â€
The grace period will run from Sept. 16 through Sept. 21. If successful, Library Forgiveness Week will become an annual event, Pham said.
Materials may to returned to these locations:
* Central Library, 26 Civic Center Plaza.
* Bookmobile Sites. For locations: (714) 647-5285.
* McFadden Learning Center, 2627 W. McFadden Ave.
* Newhope Learning Center, 122 N. Newhope Center.
