All too often, experiments in blending metal, hard-core punk and rap yield hopelessly muscle-bound music that flexes and postures itself into a corner. Though the fourth album from this Brooklyn quartet bristles with incensed energy and a seismic musical attack, it’s all channeled into smart songs seasoned with enough flavas (a sprinkling of simulated vinyl surface noise, a dash of zesty percussion) and lively dynamics to keep things fresh.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
