What exactly were Hillary Clinton, Carl Lewis and Mary Ellen Clark talking about the other day when they watched the semifinals of the women’s three-meter springboard diving?
Maybe the First Lady was quizzing Lewis about his campaign to run on the 400-meter relay team. Or perhaps Clark told stories about inadvertently wearing the wrong warmup suit on the medal stand.
As it turned out, Hillary was a very vocal fan, Clark told her diving teammates.
“It was pretty neat,” Jenny Keim said. “She seemed really excited, and Mary Ellen said she was screaming a lot up there.”
The U.S. diving team then had its picture taken on the pool deck with Clinton and Lewis.
