Morgan Trails Long in Campaign Funds
Camarillo Councilman Mike Morgan has raised $9,000 in his bid for a county supervisor’s seat--less than half the amount raised by his opponent, according to campaign statements filed with the county.
Morgan will face Kathy Long, a top aide to retiring Supervisor Maggie Kildee, in the November race to represent the 3rd District. The sprawling district includes Santa Paula, Fillmore, Camarillo, Ojai and a portion of Thousand Oaks.
Morgan’s campaign finance report covers March 10 through June 30. His contributions included a $125 donation from Camarillo Councilwoman Charlotte Craven and a $500 personal loan.
For her part, Long raised $19,500 during the same period. Her contributions included a $250 donation from actress Mary Steenburgen, $250 from actor Larry Hagman and a $2,000 personal loan.
