The Pacific Symphony ended fiscal 1996 with a surplus of $15,000, balancing its budget for the fifth consecutive year, officials have announced.

Operating revenue for the period, which ended June 30, totaled $6,538,000 against expenditures of $6,523,000. Ticket revenue increased 7.5%, to $3,523,000 from $3,276,085.

Classic Series tickets increased from 74% of capacity to 78%. Pops Series tickets rose to 80% from 76%. But Summer (1995) Series ticket sales declined 3.6%, with the shortfall occurring in the midweek Fourth of July concert attendance, according to Louis Spisto, the orchestra’s executive director.
