Youth, 15, Arrested in Sidewalk Slaying

An Oxnard boy remains in custody after police arrested him in connection with the May slaying of Ralph David Rico Jr.
Rico, 14, was shot in the chest outside his aunt’s house in the South Winds neighborhood of Oxnard on May 21, and left to die on the sidewalk. Police said they believed the shooting to be gang-related.
The 15-year-old suspect was already in custody at a juvenile detention facility at the time of his arrest on Monday, police said.
