Luana Anders; Film, Stage and Television Actress
Luana Anders, 54, who worked her way up from studio messenger to actress on film, stage and television. A California native, Anders began as a bicycle messenger at MGM along with Jack Nicholson and Roger Corman, who became lifelong friends. She later acted in several Roger Corman films, including “The Pit and the Pendulum†and director Francis Ford Coppola’s “Dementia 13.†On Broadway, Anders acted opposite Rex Harrison in “The Fighting Cock.†From the 1950s through ‘80s, she appeared in more than 350 television shows, including “The Rifleman†and “Hunter.†She also had parts in about 30 films, including “A Cold Day in the Park,†“Shampoo†and “You Can’t Hurry Love.†Her final role was in “Wild Bill Cody.†On Sunday in Mar Vista of breast cancer.
