Program Emphasizes Wilderness Skills
Children 7 to 12 years old may participate in the Junior Ranger Program at Gen. Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park today and Aug. 3.
The program teaches outdoor safety survival, map-making skills and facts about native plants and wild animals that inhabit the park.
Each program is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Participants may register each Saturday before the session for a $4 daily fee, or pay $24 for the complete program. There is a $2 parking fee. Each child should bring drinking water and wear a hat and sturdy shoes or sneakers.
