With the Smashing Pumpkins’ tour resuming after being suspended due to the death of keyboard side man Jonathan Melvoin, tickets for a third area date, Aug. 24 at the Pond of Anaheim, go on sale today. An Aug. 21 show at the Forum and an Aug. 23 Anaheim date are sold out. . . . An added Sex Pistols show, Aug. 25 at the Hollywood Palladium, is on sale now. . . . Tickets are on sale today for a reggae bill of Maxi Priest, Shaggy and Shabba Ranks, Sept. 1 at the Greek Theatre. . . . On sale now is the Blue Nile at the El Rey Theatre on Aug. 25. . . . On sale Sunday is a “Legends of Motown†bill of the Temptations, the Four Tops, Martha Reeves and the Marvelettes, Sept. 13 at the Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion. . . . On sale now is the Philosopher Kings, Aug. 16 at the Roxy. . . . Michelle Shocked has replaced Nanci Griffith on the bill with the Chieftains and Ashley MacIsaac at the Universal Amphitheatre on Monday, though will not be part of the show Tuesday at Humphries in San Diego. The Chieftains can also be seen Tuesday performing on the soap opera “One Life to Live,†which airs on KABC-TV (Channel 7) at 1 p.m.
