Parent to Make 3rd Bid for School Board

Emphasizing basic curriculum and the importance of technology for the 18,858-student school district, Newbury Park resident Charles E. Rittenburg announced Thursday that he will make a run for the Conejo Valley School Board.
An unsuccessful two-time candidate who narrowly missed winning a school board seat two years ago, the 45-year-old Rittenburg said it is time to bring “fresh faces, fresh ideas and fresh leadership” to the five-member board. He vowed to serve no more than two four-year terms if elected.
“We have a good school district, but we could be better,” Rittenburg said.
For example, he said, school board responsiveness could be improved by holding a monthly open forum for community members.
A graduate of West Point, Rittenburg is an engineer with Northrop Grumman.
