High Court Rulings

Re “High Court Focus: Equal Treatment, Free Speech,” July 3: Au contraire! Recent decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court have, indeed, been anti-government in focus.
Whenever the court rules in favor of the Constitution, as written and not as activist courts want to interpret, the court will always rule against the power of the state. The current court, even with its recent addition of more moderate justices, continues to be wary of government action in violation of national law and our individual freedoms.
With the other two branches of government--the executive and legislative--racked by both scandal and self-serving incompetent partisanship, it is refreshing to know that at least the branch most representative of the ideals of American freedom, the judiciary, is still on the job.
