Bunch Selects Kentucky

College of the Canyons outfielder Justin Bunch has signed a letter of intent with Kentucky. Catcher Jeff Brown is headed to Cal State Stanislaus. Pitcher John Maggiora, who played on The Master’s College team that disbanded in the middle of last season, will also transfer to Stanislaus.
Basketball
Former Hart High and University of Oregon standout Sara Wilson has been hired as an assistant coach at Oregon.
Wilson, who led Hart to Southern Section championships in 1989 and ’90 and Oregon to the NCAA tournament in 1994, was an assistant at College of the Canyons last season.
Wilson, a 6-4 center, also played two seasons professionally in Sweden, leading Bro Basket of Orebro to the championship one of those years.
UCLA Coach Jim Harrick will conduct a free clinic for youngsters ages 8-12 on July 27 at Miller Infiniti in Thousand Oaks.

Soccer
Midfielder Luis Castro has committed to Cal State Northridge. The former Cleveland High standout scored 22 goals and was a second team All-City selection last season.
Signups for AYSO youth soccer in Palmdale are scheduled for July 19 at McAdam Park from 4 to 8 p.m.
