Pfetzing Wins Speedway Scratch Main Event

COSTA MESA — Robert Pfetzing of La Habra won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 6,112 in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was second and Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa third. John Aden of Apple Valley finished fourth and Gary Hicks of Riverside fifth.

Oxley won the eight-lap handicap main event. Ed Castro of Ojai was second, Jessee Finch of Orange was third, Andy Northrup of Ontario was fourth and Jason Daniels of Lake Elsinore was fifth.
