** 1/2 Blues Traveler, “Live From the Fall,” A&M.; John Popper’s speedy harmonica runs are the band’s sonic signature, but guitarist Chan Kinchla is the star of this generous two-disc live set. Although recent studio albums have focused on tightened songwriting, here such stretched-out jams as a playful medley of “Go,” “Run” and War’s “Low Rider” spotlight Kinchla’s inventive work, though the quartet remains rhythmically rather pedestrian.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
