Bethel Leads Heptathlon at National Junior Meet

Ashley Bethel of Mission Viejo High leads after the first day of the heptathlon at the U.S. National Junior championships Friday at Delaware, Ohio.
Bethel scored 3,178 points in the first four events. The final three events are today.
Kerry O’Bric, an Edison graduate who will compete at Baylor next season, is second with 3,121 points.
