Foreign Exchange Efforts Recognized

Resident Doris Allen was honored by the Tustin Unified School District Board of Education for her 20 years of volunteer service pairing foreign exchange students with host families.
Allen is a volunteer with the Tustin chapter of American Field Service’s intercultural program. She acts as a liaison between foreign students and host families, helps the students register for classes, and encourages their involvement in extracurricular activities.
Amy Mahar, a program volunteer for the past three years, was also honored. She has recruited many local students for the program and conducts interviews with potential hosts.
