EBONI GRAYSON

100 meters

* Rebounded from early-season injuries to place third in the City Section finals and ninth in the State championships after running a career-best of 12.23 in her qualifying heat.

SHARIKA HIGGINS

Channel Islands, Senior

200 meters

* The Ventura County champion placed fifth in the Southern Section Division I finals. She also had the three fastest times in the region, led by a school-record 24.60.

KADRINA COFFEE

Palmdale, Sophomore

400 meters

* Placed third in the Southern Section Division I championships with a region-leading 55.26 before a injured quadriceps led to a disappointing sixth in the Masters Meet.

TARA GREGORY

Crescenta Valley, Sophomore

800 meters

* Placed fifth in the State championships with a school record 2:14.24 and was third in the Southern Section Division I finals. She also ran five of the region’s top seven times.

MICHELLE PERRY

Quartz Hill, Junior

100-meter high hurdles

300-meter low hurdles

* Southern Section Division I champion in both events, she placed third in the lows and fifth in the highs in the State championships with school-record times of 42.68 and 14.37. Her time in the lows moved her to second on the all-time region list.

LIZ GILTNER

Chaminade, Junior

High jump

* Three-time Southern Section Division III champion cleared a school record of 5-10 to win the State meet and move into a tie for fourth on the all-time region list.

BRIDGET PEARSON

Hoover, Freshman

Pole vault

* Raised the region record to 11-8 and placed second in the State as well as the Southern Section Division I championships. She jumped 11 feet or higher in five meets.

KENYA CORLEY

Antelope Valley, Junior

Long jump

* Won the Southern Section Division I title on her last jump with a school record of 19-2 3/4, a mark that moved her to seventh on the all-time region list.

JAMEKA TAYLOR

Littlerock, Freshman

Triple jump

* Bounded a school record 37-2 and placed sixth in the Southern Section Division I championships. She was the only competitor in the region to jump better than 37 feet.

CHEREE HICKS

Littlerock, Senior

Shotput, Discus

* Won the discus and placed third in the shotput in the Southern Section Division I championships before finishing sixth in the shotput and ninth in the discus in the State meet. She set school records of 43-3 in the shotput and 145-6 in the discus, a mark that ties her for third on the all-time region list.
