WESTMINSTER — A 39-year-old local man was killed Monday night when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle, struck a concrete pole and then a teenage pedestrian, who was critically injured, police said.
Louie Don Reed Jr. was southbound on Edwards Street near Homer Street when his motorcycle apparently jumped the curb, according to Westminster Police Sgt. Dwight Moore. The flying bike then struck a girl walking on the sidewalk across from Buckingham Park, Moore said.
The girl’s name was not available Monday night. Moore said her injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
The crash is under investigation, Moore said.
