$1,000 Reward Offered in Armed Robbery

A $1,000 reward is being offered by Ventura County Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest in an armed robbery Saturday at a Newbury Park oil change business.
According to police, a man entered the Econo Lube ‘n Tune at 308 Giant Oak Ave. about 5 p.m. and robbed the employees at gunpoint. During the incident, he struck one of the employees with a .22-caliber automatic handgun, causing severe injuries.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 30 years old, 5-foot-10, weighing 210 pounds. He was wearing a black or brown nylon stocking mask, a long-sleeved gray sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and white latex gloves.
He fled in an unknown direction.
Anyone with information regarding the crime should contact Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK. Callers do not have to give their names and will be assigned a number as a means of identification.
