BART KIZIEROWSKI
50 freestyle, 100 freestyle
Mission Viejo, Sr.
Kizierowski won the 50 free in 20.56 and his 100 free (44.61) was an All-American time at Division I finals. Next stop for Kizierowski: the Olympic Games, where he’ll be representing his native Poland.
PHILIPPE DEMERS
200 freestyle, 100 butterfly
Santa Margarita, Jr.
Demers started the season on a high note, having competed in the Olympic trials in March. He went on to set a Division I section record in the 100 butterfly (48.68) and also won the 200 freestyle (1:37.54).
STEVE RONSON
200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke
Irvine, Sr.
Stanford-bound Ronson came back from a disappointing junior year to win the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley at division finals. His breaststroke time of 55.43 was just off a section record.
TIM MARTIN
500 freestyle
Kennedy, Sr.
Martin’s 4:26.08 won at Division II finals and was the fastest time in the county this season. He took second in the 200 free (1:40.65).
GOH PHUANGTHONG
100 backstroke
Laguna Hills, Sr.
Phuangthong transferred from Mission Viejo to Laguna Hills but continued his swimming success with a Division II 100 backstroke record (50.91).

Diving
Capistrano Valley, Jr.
Samples was the only county diver who finished in the medal round at Southern Section Division I finals. He finished fifth with 442.20 points.

With Polish Olympian Kizierowski swimming the anchor leg in a 20.56 split, the Diablos had little trouble winning the relay in 1:24.84.

400 freestyle relay Mission Viejo
The Diablos capped their relay sweep, winning in an All-American time of 3:03.88, which was seven seconds faster than second-place Santa Margarita.

Finished first at Division I finals in a time of 1:36.93, which was almost a second ahead of second-place Santa Margarita.

Mission Viejo
Pelton finished his 22nd season at Mission Viejo with his 20th Southern Section Division I title and an astonishing overall record of 256-4.

Best time: 20.78. Won the event at Division II finals with second-fastest time in the county.

Best time: 1:39.52. Second-fastest time in county and finished second at Division I finals.

Mission Viejo, Jr.
Best time: 4:30.45. Was third at Division I finals but has one more year to win division.
Karl Hyross
100 backstroke
Mission Viejo, Sr.
Best time: 51.22. Division I and South Coast League champion in the 100 backstroke.
Billy Brown
100 breaststroke
Fullerton, Sr.
Best time: 57.47. The big surprise at Division II finals, he set a Southern Section record in the breaststroke.
100 butterfly
Hiro Sakoda
Sunny Hills, So.
Best time: 50.81. Was second in Division II finals and posted the second-fastest time in county.
200 indiv. medley
Piotr Florczyk
Mission Viejo, Jr.
Best time: 1:51.27. A top performer throughout the season, he finished third at Division I finals.
200 freestyle relay
Santa Margarita
Best time: 1:25.68. Philippe Demers (Jr.), John Peterson (Sr.), Devon Jensen (So.) and Frank Uxa (So.). Finished a close second behind Mission Viejo at Division I.
400 freestyle relay
Santa Margarita Best time: 3:11.24. Philippe Demers (Sr.), John Peterson (Sr.), Stephen Ferguson (Sr.) and Frank Uxa (So.). Finished second to the Diablos at section finals.
200 medley relay
Laguna Hills
Best time: 1:37.22. Delson Ting (Sr.), Steven Poling (So.), Goh Phuangthong (Sr.) and Matt Kwok (Jr.). Finished third at Division II finals with the second-fastest time in county.
Diving
Robert Spach
Aliso Niguel, Sr.
Best score: 481.55. He won the title at Southern Section Division II finals.
