ANAHEIM — A 20-year-old Anaheim man was wounded near his home late Sunday when a carload of men asked him what gang he claimed, then opened fire after he said he was not a gang member, sheriff’s officials said.
Javier Reza, who lives on Perdido Street in an unincorporated area that borders Anaheim, was confronted about 11:20 p.m. Sunday by four or five men in a 1992 or 1993 Honda Accord, Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez said.
After Reza told the men he did not claim any gang, two men got out of the car and argued with him before one fired four shots. Reza was struck twice in the leg and taken to a hospital, Mendez said.’
The Honda was last seen heading west on Ball Road toward Magnolia Street.
