Construction is expected to begin this month on a county road improvement project on Old Topanga Canyon Road near Red Rock Road, officials said. The work is designed to control flooding in the area, said Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, who represents the district.
The $249,870 project will include construction of a reinforced concrete box culvert and the relocation of two water mains, he said.
The project is expected to be completed in September, officials said. Once work begins, a portion of Old Topanga Canyon Road is expected to be reduced to one lane.
