. . . The $75-million Four Seasons Hotel opened for business in Newport Beach after chartering an Air France jet to Bangkok to pick up two hand-woven rugs, intended to be the centerpieces of the lobby.
The rugs arrived just hours before the 314-room hotel’s grand opening. Said general manager Klaus Tenter: “We were really biting our fingernails.”
