Jazz Man: Guitarist Steve Gregory, above, often tries to keep his music interesting by playing just two or three notes together instead of dense jazz chords. Inspired by John Coltrane and Miles Davis, the 31-year-old Westside resident appears tonight in Glendale (F13).

Cadillac Men: Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, an Argentine band known for combining salsa, reggae and punk music, is understandably lively in concert. “For us, the live thing is like an exorcism,†said Sergio Rotman, the band’s saxophonist. “We play on stage as if we were going to die the next minute.†(F1A) . . . The band performs Friday at the Universal Amphitheatre.

Reel Fun: The Los Angeles Celtic Arts center has moved to North Hollywood, where every Monday night the Raven Playhouse comes alive with the sounds of reels and jigs (F1A). The music is from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, but the dancing is for everyone.
