Marge Picks Up Some Support--Sort of

Leave Marge Schott alone!

We all know she is a silly, rude, obnoxious person, but hey, this is America, where everyone is supposed to have a right to their own thoughts and beliefs, despite being repugnant to others.

The people who make me angry are the writers who interview her, knowing this simple woman is bound to say something insulting and outrageous. These writers are just looking for a cheap story. Shame on them!

Those were interesting remarks by former Minnesota Twin owner Calvin Griffith condemning the verbal antics of Marge Schott. In the past, Griffith claimed publicly he moved his franchise from Washington to Minnesota because there were too many blacks in the nation’s capital. Must have been a conversion there somewhere.

Perhaps the media should leave Marge Schott alone. You don’t interview a 10-year-old developmentally disabled girl, do you?

The best way to curb her is to have the other 60% of the Reds’ ownership vote her out of office, as often happens in the corporate world, or Cincinnatians can send her a message by simply staying away from home games for a while.

Hogwash and hypocrisy!

“Baseball will not condone racial, ethnic or gender stereotyping. . . . Ethnic stigmatizing is abhorrent and can have no place in the baseball family,†says National League President Len Coleman.
