Two robbery suspects were arrested Friday as they fled a bank branch with thousands of dollars in their hands, police said.
Two men entered the Bank of America in the 17900 block of Magnolia Avenue about 10:45 a.m. and sat down at a service desk with the operations manager. They told the manager they were armed and demanded money, although no weapon was seen, Police Sgt. Dann Bean said.
One of the thieves ordered the bank employee to take him to a back room where workers stock automated teller machines, Bean said. After grabbing cash, the robber returned to the service desk where the other man was waiting, and they both left. Police officers nearby spotted the suspects and chased them on foot.
Samuel Overstreet, 21, and Ricky Rose, 24, both of Los Angeles, were arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery.
