Harris Column

* It is unfortunate that Scott Harris could not resist the urge to slam Dr. Stephen Johnson and the Men’s Center of Los Angeles’ work on the subject of “Dangerous Women” in his column “Survival in a Hotbed of Women,” April 11. I believe Harris missed the point entirely. I have known Johnson for many years and am very familiar with his work, which has always been about helping men and women build happy, healthy, loving, mutually supportive relationships with one another.
Contrary to what Harris implies, Johnson has worked in alliance with the women’s movement and never against it, sponsoring programs that are created to close the communication gap between the sexes, not widen it.
It seems to me that Harris was more interested in generating controversy that in covering the true story about Johnson’s work.
