Film Roman Files for Initial Offering: The animator behind the hit TV show “The Simpsons” plans to offer 3.79 million shares for sale. Film Roman Inc. filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell 3.6 million of the shares in the expected price range of $10 to $12 a share. An additional 180,000 shares will be sold by the company’s founder and chief executive, Phil Roman, and other shareholders. The North Hollywood-based company, which also produces “Felix the Cat” and “The Critic,” aims to raise $36.3 million through the sale of stock. Film Roman will use the proceeds to pay dividends on preferred stock, to redeem some preferred stock and to repay debt, according to the filing.
