JetHawks Stuck Behind Eight Ball After 6-2 Loss
STOCKTON — Even though the JetHawks headed north, they continued to go south when the Stockton Ports handed them their eighth consecutive loss, 6-2, on Tuesday night.
Unlike their previous losses, which can be attributed to a lack of hitting or poor fielding, the JetHawks (19-21) collected 10 hits and had no errors.
But Lancaster was unable to collect any timely hits against right-hander Travis Smith (3-1), leaving eight runners on base.
Stockton (21-18) roughed up Brett Hinchliffe (3-3) for six runs and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Jose Cruz Jr. had two hits for the JetHawks, who haven’t won since May 6.
