Hospitals Team Up in Community Outreach Program
St. John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica has joined forces with Daniel Freeman Hospital on a new community outreach program to promote better health.
Called “Good Neighbors for a Healthier Community,†the program’s focus is preventing illness through education. Staff members at the two Catholic hospitals plan to target Westside cities as well as Inglewood and the South Bay area.
The Good Neighbors program includes parenting classes, immunization clinics, women’s services, senior programs, emergency and safety instruction, and cancer and healthy heart education.
The hospitals also are sponsoring a senior citizen fitness fair and a managed care symposium to educate attendees about the realities of managed care.
