Obituaries : Magdalena V. Morales; 70-Year County Resident

Magdalena V. Morales, a devoted mother and gardener, died Thursday at Community Memorial Hospital. She was 89.
Born in Sonora, Mexico, she moved to Ventura County 70 years ago.
The Saticoy resident cared for a flower and vegetable garden and loved to care for animals. She also spent a lot of time with her church community at the Church of God of Prophecy in Saticoy.
Morales is survived by five sons, Abraham of Bakersfield, Jess of Oxnard, Daniel of Hollister, Pasquel of Ventura and David of El Rio; four daughters, Magdalena Ochoa of El Rio, Conchoa Espinoza of Hollister, Margarita Ornelas of Oxnard, Antonia Baldonado of Saticoy and Esther Pendleton of Los Angeles; and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday starting at 6 p.m. in the Church of God of Prophecy in Saticoy. A funeral service is planned for Monday at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura. Arrangements are being handled by Guardian Memorial Funeral Directors of Oxnard.
