All season Rancho Santiago Coach Don Sneddon said Zuniga, from Saddleback High, was going to be the closer. He was finally given his chance, and he got a victory and a save in two games against first-place Cypress. He pitched two shutout innings last Thursday to get the victory as Rancho Santiago won, 9-7. He came back with two more shutout innings for a save in a 6-4 victory last Saturday. He also was six for 14 with two doubles, a home run and four runs batted in.
Volleyball

* Orange Coast, freshman. He had 42 kills, 10 blocks and two digs as Orange Coast won three times and moved into a first-place tie with San Diego Mesa.
