Jones Named Top Player in Division V

Montclair Prep forward Anwawn Jones has been selected the Southern Section Division V player of the year.
The 6-foot-4 senior averaged 22.8 points and 13.3 rebounds and led the Mounties (29-4) to the state championship game.
Joining Jones as first-team selections from the region are Akil Anderson of Montclair Prep, Johnny Morales of Antelope Valley Christian and Taman Van Scoy of Highland Hall. Eric Olson of Cornerstone Christian and Mike Appel of Campbell Hall were second-team choices.
Bell-Jeff sophomore Ruben Douglas, who averaged 20.2 points and 4.1 assists, and Santa Clara senior Lukman Dotson, who averaged 17 points, were first-team selections in Division IV.
Second-team choices from the region were Randy Gastwirt of Oak Park, Kent Dennis of Bell-Jeff and Brian Fay of Providence.
