La Quinta went 5-0 last week, outscoring its opponents, 55-12, to extend its winning streak to seven, and Dawkins was a major part of the Aztecs’ offensive production. He went 15 for 20 with 12 runs scored and 10 runs batted in. In a 13-1 victory over Edison, Dawkins was three for four, including a double and a home run, with four RBIs. “He also made three outstanding catches,” Coach Dave Demarest said. “Two up against the fence and one after the right fielder lost the ball in the sun.”

* Cypress. Brito, a senior, went six for seven with four home runs and nine RBIs in an 11-0 victory over Kennedy and a 12-0 victory over Century. Seibel, a junior, pitched a no-hitter against Kennedy.

* Santa Margarita, senior. Shot two-under-par 34 at Los Coyotes as the Eagles took a 183-186 lead over Sunny Hills halfway through a match.
Tennis

* Dana Hills, junior. Won his singles sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, as the unranked Dolphins beat No. 3 University, 10-8.
Volleyball
Mike Tully
* Capistrano Valley, senior. Had 33 kills in the Cougars’ five-game victory over Esperanza. Had 14 kills in a 18-16 victory in the third game.
