Hiring of Bibby Doesn’t Add Up

I did not take courses in new math or effective management principles while at USC, so I do not understand the decision-making process of Athletic Director Mike Garrett’s selection-firing of basketball coaches.
He removes the “interim” label from the head coach with a winning percentage of .250 (7-21) and gives him a new contract. He then fires the same coach with an 11-10 record during the next season. Then he removes the “interim” tag from the former assistant and current head coach and gives him a new contract as a reward for his stellar winning percentage of .000.
Given Garrett’s logic, who’s going to be the next USC coach? Charlie Brown?
